As a bonus action, the user can split a portion of their soul and summon a Fragment of themselves within an unoccupied space 10 feet to them. They may also as a bonus action re-absorb an allied Fragment.
Fragments share the same initiative as the user, effectively going after the user.
Shadowy Visages. The Fragment appears as a silhouette of the user with a shadowy tether at their shadows linked to the user. They have shadowy imitations of the user’s equipment and don’t benefit from any magical effects that the origin may have. Effectively, the Fragments are ½ CR Undead with resistance to Necrotic damage, vulnerability to Radiant damage and immunity to Poison Damage. They are also immune to the following conditions: Charmed, Exhaustion, Frightened, Petrified, Poisoned, Prone, Restrained, Stunned. All damages the Fragments do are Necrotic.
Fragments have these additional limitations.
- Fragments does not benefit from equipments or magic items
- Fragments cannot speak
- Fragments cannot cast spells
- Fragments dissipate if they do not stay within 60 feet of the user
- Fragments cannot lift more than 10 pounds
Linked. The Fragment shares the same proficiency and class abilities as the user. The user can also see, hear and feel what the Fragment experiences. Whatever damage the Fragments take will be translated to the user as psychic damage. The user is also telepathically linked to the Fragments and may give them instructions that they will follow to the best of their ability.
Malcontent. Every time the user decides to create a Fragment, there is a chance it rebels and tries to murder its creator. Starting at DC 10 WIS saving throw, each fragmentation increases the DC by 1. The DC is reset on a long rest. Rebellious Fragments steal half of its user’s vitality and are effectively unlinked in terms of damage purposes. Until destroyed, they will attempt to kill the user.
Loose Soul. When the user’s body falls unconscious, their consciousness turns into a Fragment. The effect ends when the body is healed again.
Unstable. Fragments dissipate on their own after a minute.
Persistent. Un-dismissed Fragments stay around until the user dies.
