Prerequisite: 18 or higher Intelligence score
Through extensive research, study, and experience you gain the following benefits:
- You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you are already proficient, you gain expertise with that skill, which means your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make with it. A skill already benefiting from a feature that doubles your proficiency bonus cannot benefit from expertise.
- You gain one of the following 1st-level spells to gain proficiency with: detect magic, comprehend languages, identify, or detect evil and good.
- You learn that spell and can cast it at its lowest level without expending a spell slot. Once you cast it, you must finish a long rest before you can cast it again using this feat.
- When a creature casts a spell within 30ft. of you, you can make an intelligence (Arcana) check to identify the spell, DC 10 + spell's level. The check automatically succeeds if the spell uses verbal, somatic, and material components.
