• You learn a 1st-level spell from the ranger spell list. You can cast this spell without a spell slot, and you must finish a long rest before you can cast it in this way again. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have. 
• If you haven’t cast this feat’s spell without a spell slot since the last time you finished a long rest, you may spend an action to forgo the ability to cast that spell without a spell slot until you finish a long rest. When you do, you cast the speak with animals spell.
• You gain proficiency in a skill of your choice.
