Prerequisite: Requires spellcasting
Prerequisites: spellcasting
You learn the ability to cast your spells by sacrificing your blood instead of expending a spell slot. To cast a spell as blood magic, you subtract your hit points from your hit point maximum in order to fuel your spellcasting and spellcasting features. Hit points lost in casting your spells as blood magic cannot be mitigated, healed, transferred, or regained until after a long rest.
- As a bonus action, you can cast a cantrip you know by sacrificing 1 hit point.
- As an action, you can cast a spell you know by sacrificing a number of d4 hit points equal to the spell's level without expending a spell slot.
- When you cast a spell using your blood magic, it requires no verbal or somatic components, and it requires no material components, unless they are consumed by the spell.
