Where others see a spell scroll, Mechanists see a collection of mystical blue-prints. Using the knowledge you glean from these scrolls you invent and construct new contraptions.
Creating a contraption from a spell scroll requires a successful Intelligence (Arcana) check with a DC of 10 + the spell’s level. A failed skill check means the contraption misfired with explosive results, ruining the materials involved.
Material Costs: The cost in gold required to create the contraption is 400 x the spell’s level (or 200 gold pieces for cantrips).
Charges: A contraption requires a number of dragon powder charges equal to the spell’s level +1 to activate its abilities.
