When you take this feat, you may train familiars and add your proficiency modifier to their AC, skill checks, saves, DC and to hit rolls for weapon attacks and spell attacks. Additionally, you can come in your familiar as a bonus action instead of an action.
Taking this feat allows you to train your familiar in new ways by allowing them to gain levels and you may train them in maneuvers and feats they typically would not be able to learn. (Chart provided on leveling familiar)

Posted Oct 8, 2021I got this from a document by James John called "How to Train Your Companion" (Found on DMs guild)
It had extensive further details on leveling your familiar, amazing feat options for them. I live this supplement.
It also has different options for leveling beast companions and also dragon training!!
