As a human, you are a spiritual heir to the god of Greed; this divine truth can be exploited to leverage a simple but extreme power - taking. The Lord of Nessus has no concept of ownership outside of "mine" and "not mine yet." Trough embracing this mindset people may be able to free themselves from the bondage of a harsh patron or even rise above a former master, usurping their power entirely. Many, however, shy away from using this gift for fear it will lead them to become increasingly similar to the Great Corrupter.

Stand Apart: Even without the will of your patron behind you, you maintain access to all Warlock class features except for spellcasting or other effects (such as Eldritch Smite) which require the expenditure of a spell slot.

Usurp Power: When attempting to use a spell slot when none are available (either via having exhausted the resource or using magic when your patron is not supporting you) you may make a DC 20 CHA saving throw. On a success you forcibly siphon power from your patron to fuel your spell or effect. On a success, the DC of this feature increases by 5 (stacking) until the end of your next long rest.
