Due to the Ebon Steel Tower Shield's lighter weight and grand size, you gain the following benefit while wielding this shield:
If you aren't incapacitated, you can make a Strength Saving throw instead of any Dexterity saving throw you would make against a spell or other harmful effect that produces a tangible effect or object to cause damage. If you make a Strength saving throw in this way to take only half damage from the effect, you can use your reaction to take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, interposing your grand shield between yourself and the source of the effect.
This type of Strength saving throw cannot substitute Dexterity saving throws that do not produce tangible damaging effects, such as those made to avoid slipping off a ledge, falling in a pitfall, etc.
