You gain the ability to channel, and sometimes sacrifice, a part of your vital essence to curse and manipulate creatures through Hemocraft magic. You gain the following benefits:

  • You gain one Blood Maledict to invoke Blood Curses with (this is added to any Blood Maledicts you have from another source). You regain all expended Blood Maledicts when you finish a short or long rest.
  • You learn one Blood Curse of your choice from the Blood Hunter class. Whenever you reach a level that grants the Ability Score Improvement feature, you can replace the Blood Curse with another one from the Blood Hunter class.
  • While invoking a Blood Curse, but before it affects the target, you can choose to amplify the Curse by losing a number of hit points equal to your Hemocraft die, which is a d4 (this die is the same as your other Hemocraft Dice if you are a Blood Hunter). An amplified Curse gains an additional effect, noted in the Curse’s description.
  • Creatures that do not have blood in their bodies are immune to Blood Curses, unless you have amplified the Curse.

When a Curse requires your target to make a saving throw to resist its effect, the saving throw DC is calculated as follows:
Hemocraft save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier.
