Dendars Sleep Curse Image
Prerequisite: Must be a sorcerer of at least Level 3

You are sleeping most of the time, it's not like you just lie around all day, but holding a conversation is not your strong suite.

You did something to upset Dendar and not just some minor thing, something to realy piss her of, why else would she trap your mind in an subconscious state. Most of the time you feel like watching your surrounding through milky glass, while sitting in your own little bubble. But not everything is bad this way, beeing connected to an elder evil has its upsides too. For example you can tap into the powers of this elder beeing, but be warned wielding such power doesn't come without a cost.
Over the time you will learn to master this power. (See the Dendars Sleep Curse Awakening feats)

When you take this feat, you learn the Sleep Spell and can cast it once without expending a spell slot. Once you cast this spell, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest. If you can cast spells, you can expend spell slots to cast sleep as if you had sleep prepared.

Once you reach level 9 you learn the dream spell, and you can cast it like Sleep described above.

You have 3 different stages of consciousness: Sleepwalking, awake and full focus

Sleepwalking:
While others are awake you are sleepwalking, you can sense your surroundings like when you are dreaming you gain the following benefits and detriments.

  • Your senses are clear up to a range of 15ft x your proficiency bonus, everything outside that range is blurry and muffled, and you get disadvantage on any dice role when interacting with something outside that range.
  • You can communicate the same way you can when you are half asleep and someone tries to speak to you.
  • You have a -5 bonus to initiative.
  • You are surprised, and Stunned, for the first round of combat.
  • You have disadvantage on Dexterity, Strength, Wisdom and Intelligence saving throws.
  • You can't expend your highest level spell slot/s.

Awake:
You can be awake for 1 hour a day, these hour can be split up a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. While awake you can act normal. You become awake, if one of the following things happen:

  • You take psychic or thunder damage
  • Someone else cast lesser restoration or simular magic on you
  • You fall below half your Hitpoint maximum
  • (something you and your DM discussed)

If you would awake but don't have any time left or can't split the time any more nothing happens. You can burn 1 Hit Die (see below) to gain an additional hour of time you can be awake.

Full Focus:
Once per day when you are awake, you can enter a state of full consciousness (no action required), taping into the same power, that cursed you. Doing so isn't without danger, to activate this ability (and some of its further features) you have to burn one Hit Die, those hit dice are spent and don't regenerate during a long rest. Once you burned your last Hit Die, you fall unconscious at the end of your turn until you regain at least one Hit Die. You can restore Hit Dice in the following ways:

A lesser restoration restores 1 Hit die, greater restoration restores 2 Hit dice, Heal or similar spells restores 4 Hit dice, causing a person to have Nightmares restores a number of Hit dice equal to the number of Hit Dice the Target would have regained during their rest, any 9th level healing spell (or wish) restores all burned Hit dice.

This state lasts for a number of minutes equal to 5 times your proficiency bonus. After this effect ends, you need to revert to your sleepwalking state for at least one hour. While in this state, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on wisdom perception and intelligence investigation checks
  • Spells you cast ignore resistance to psychic damage. In addition, when you roll damage for a spell you cast that deals psychic damage, you can treat any 1 on a damage die as a 2
  • You gain a bonus to your AC equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down)
  • Everything you see or notice in any way is burned into your mind and you will remember it forever.
