Hungry For Knowledge Image

You have become initiated in the esoteric practices of the Darakhul. You have acquired both their taste for the dead flesh of sentient creatures, and their ability to learn from whom they consume.

Tongue of Hunger. You learn the ghoul language of Darakhul. In addition, you gain advantage on Charisma checks when dealing with Darakhul and other ghouls.

Luncheon Lore. When you consume the dead flesh of a sentient creature, you are able to cast legend lore as a ritual, with the following adjustments:

  • The material component requirement for the spell’s casting is replaced with the consumed flesh.
  • The spell’s casting time is increased to 2d6 hours, as you literally digest the information. You are able to process this while you go about other activities, including combat.
  • The knowledge learned about a topic is via the subjective experience of the sentient creature whose flesh is consumed, and is therefore limited to what it knew in life.
  • You learn the individual history of the sentient creature, in addition to the specific knowledge gained from the spell. This includes temporary fluency (4d12 hours) with all languages known by the sentient creature in life.
  • If you consume a creature’s flesh that has been dead less than 1 day,  you must make a DC 17 Charisma saving throw. On a failure, you are overwhelmed with the subjective emotional experience of the creature in the moments of its death, and the spell’s casting time increases to 4d6 hours.
