Prerequisite: Class: Fighter, Subclass: Battle Master
Starting at 8th level, you begin to recognize your enemies through high-stress tells in situations like combat and notice their weak spots. When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you may spend one superiority-die to learn two of the following feats about the creature:
- Its Resistances and/or Immunities
- Its Vulnerabilities
- Its Proficiencies
- Its Senses
- The maximum damage it can deal with an attack action (criticals excluded). If the creature has multiple different types of attacks, the DM chooses the highest damaging one currently available.
- A: If it is capable of casting spells or not
- (Requires A) You may determine what their highest spell level they can cast is. (If the creature has visibly performed spell-casting during the encounter prior A is not required)
After you have expended a superiority-dice in this manner, your next attack ignores the possible creature's resistances towards the damage type you just dealt. You may expend an additional superiority-dice to also make it vulnerable to your next successful attack, this must be declared before the attack or damage is rolled.
