The powerful necrotic energy at your disposal has altered the way death works for you. When you drop to zero hit points, you will fall unconscious, but do not make death saving throws. Instead, your soul exits your body to fight on and attempt to revive it. In this state, neither your soul nor body can be healed by any creature other than yourself, nor can your body be stabilized.
Your soul has an armor class of 11, 7 Strength, 13 Dexterity, 10 Constitution, 60 ft of darkvision, no walk speed, and a fly speed of 40 ft. Its has 1 hit point for each wizard level, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma, equal to your own. You gain resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. You also can move through creatures and objects other than your body as if they were difficult terrain, taking 1 damage if you end your turn inside an object or creature. Additionally, you may only take the following actions: dash, disengage, dodge, ready an action, search, or make an attack. The attack has a range of touch and will deal 1d4 necrotic damage per wizard level, divided by two, rounded up. When you deal damage with this attack, your body regains temporary hit points equal to half the damage dealt, rounded down. Attacks can be made against either you or your body, but your body cannot be dropped below zero hit points, nor does it suffer failed death saving throws in this state.
This state will end after 5 rounds, or will end early if your soul drops to zero hit points, or if your soul strays more than 40 ft away from your body, at which point, what follows depends on how many temporary hit points your body gained. If your body has less than 3 temporary hit points, you will die and cannot be resurrected. If your body has between 3 and 10 temporary hit points, you will be stabilized, but remain unconscious. If your body has 10 or more temporary hit points, those temporary hit points become normal hit points, and your body's unconsciousness ends.
This effect can also be triggered at will as an action by expending a first-level spell slot. This will drop you to 0 hit points instantly.
