You've learned some of the secret processes of minting and counterfeiting coinage granting you the following benefits:
- Choose two from Smith's Tools, Alchemist's Supplies, Jeweler's Tools, Forgery Kit, or Tinker's Tools and gain proficiency
- Using the tools with which you are now proficient you can mint coins with the proper materials converting 1 pound of metal into 50 coins.
- Additionally, you can create counterfeit coins at a time and material cost determined by the DM. These coins appear comparable to normal coinage and can be spent in the place of real coins. A creature receiving these coins can choose to make and intelligence (investigation) check against the coins DC. The coins DC is determined by making a tool use check with each tool learned by this feat, increasing or decreasing the base DC (12) by each degree of success (increment of 5) above or below 10, with a 10 leaving the coins DC unchanged. If you are already proficient in another tool granted by this feat your DM may allow you to roll addition tool use checks at the cost of extra time and/or material components. Each tool may only be used once for this. For example if you rolled a 9 on your smithing check and a 22 on your forgery check (yielding -1 and +3 to the base DC respectively) you may be at an additional cost make a jewelers check rolling a 17 increasing the base DC (12 -1 + 3 + 2) to a total DC of 16.
