The life of an adventurer is varied, a mix of open plains and tight corridors. Your mind seems to favour one over the over, as poring over details in a book or searching floors for traps doesn't live up to the life of adventure and action you desire.
This feat has both benefits and penalties, described by the ADD and Subtract parts of it's design and to portray the nature of the mindset.
ADD:
- You gain advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks.
- You gain proficiency in Wisdom (Perception) checks. If you already have that proficiency, you gain expertise in that skill.
- You have a bonus to your initiative equal to your proficiency bonus.
Subtract:
- You have disadvantage on Intelligence (Investigation) checks.
- You have a penalty to your Intelligence (Investigation) checks equal to your proficiency bonus. If you already have proficiency in Intelligence (Investigation) checks, you instead lose that proficiency.
