Ki Control is the bare bones basics of being a martial artist in the world of Mystical Adventure. Ki Control requires you to harness the natural energy within your body to better yourself and defend against enemies. Ki Control is extremely versatile with bounds upon bounds of uses.
If you’re already in a class or subclass that gives you ki points, then disregard the blurb about ki points and use the ones you already have via your class/subclass. If you’re not in anything that gives you ki points,Then when you learn Ki Control you gain a number of ki points equal to 1 + your current level. A ki point is expended when you use it and you regain all of your expended ki points after finishing a short or long rest.
You’re mastery over Ki Control gives you access to the following techniques:
Energy Infused Punch. As a bonus action, you can expend a ki point to coat your fist in a yellow glow. Until the end of your turn, your unarmed strikes will do an extra 2d8 radiant damage.
Ki Blast. As a bonus action, you can expend a ki point to throw out an energy blast with a range of 60 ft. You make a ranged weapon attack + your proficiency and if it hits it will do 3d8 radiant damage.
Energy Beam. As an action, you can expend 2 ki points to charge up and blast a huge beam of energy with a range of 120 feet. You make a ranged weapon attack + your proficiency and if it hits will do 4d10 radiant damage.
Blinding Flash. As an action, you can expend a ki point to hold your arms out and make it a blinding light. Everyone within 60 ft must make a constitution saving throw against a save of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.
Sky Dance. As an action, you can expend a ki point to gain the ability to fly. You can fly up to your walking speed for about an hour.
Telepathy. As an action, you can expend 2 ki points to open a telepathic connection with anybody that you’ve spent a full day around. This connection will last up to 2 hours and only you can end it early, it’ll also automatically end if you’re unconscious.
Force Push. As a reaction, if an enemy is within 5 ft of you, you can expend 2 ki points to push them back 4d8 + your current level ft.
Energy Shield. As an action, you can expend a ki point to give a creature attacking you or someone else within 30 feet disadvantage when attacking. It lasts until the start of your next turn.
Give Energy. As an interaction action, you can give some of your ki points to someone within 30 feet of you. You can give up to 5 ki points to a creature of your choice within range.
Ki Sense. As an interaction action, you can open your aura and sense for energies around you. Not having to spend a ki point, make a wisdom check + expertise to use ki sense. The range is dependent on your level and listed in the table below. When you sense someone or something’s energy, the DM can tell you a varying amount about the following:
- How far away the energy signature is
- How healthy the energy is
- How many class levels they have
- What the alignment of the energy is
