When you take this feat you spend 8 hours playing an instrument you are proficient in calling down the muses and proving that you are worthy of their companionship. Make a performance check every hour with the DC increasing by 1 point from 10 with each check. On the third failure, the instrument brakes and cannot be used for the ritual until it is repaired. To determine the damage, roll a percentage for the Severity.
90%> Minor damage, repair can be done on your own.
80 - 89%: The damage can possibly be repaired on your own with tinkerers tools
70 - 79% : The damage must be taken to a shop that works with the materiel of the instrument. ( a viol is made of wood so you would need a carpenter to repair it.)
60 - 69% : The damage requires a specialist in the instrument to fix
50 - 59% : The damage might not be able to be fixed due to the amount of damage. if it can it will be at an increased cost.
50% < The instrument cannot be repaired and must be replaced.
If you succeed the performance ritual then the muse agrees to accompany you on your journey and takes residence in the instrument. Choose the domain and name of the muse and the physical changes the instrument takes. The muse plays the instrument giving the appearance that it is playing on its own. it also can hover behind you but, cannot levitate higher than your characters height. You may communicate with the muse through the instrument. The muse communicates with notes and melodies that only you can understand. The instrument has a durability of 10 and if destroyed the muse returns to its plane and the instrument is no longer enchanted. If the ritual is attempted again the dc starts at 11 instead of 10 and, a different domain from the previous must be chosen. The instrument gives a +1 to performance and can cast a cantrip determined by the domain of the muse.
