Posted May 8, 2019What's the point of taking this feat? Their is no bonus because because it doesn't increase the amount of feats you get. This feat doesn't do anything.

Posted Aug 5, 2019This is a neat idea, but wouldn't the net gain be zero?

Also, this feat is literally less than worthless.

Posted Feb 28, 2021Assuming you can also take this feat twice next time, and it means you'll get 4 feats the time after that, you can just keep taking this feat and letting is stack, cashing it all in at the end of the campaign and taking 16 feats at level 19. You'd be unstoppable!

Posted Mar 10, 2021It can be stacked a number of times, depending on the Dm. Just remember it’s risky but you gain a lot later by staying weak for a time. You don’t have a net gain of 1 feat each time. You gain an extra feat but you have to not take a feat or ability score improvement in order to get 2 feats added the next time you have a choice and your characters second feat/ability score improvement will not be affected.
So ex. You take it once the first level you can and forfeit an increase in your characters abilities through leveling until the next level where you get an ability score improvement or feat. You then, if you choose to take a feat, gain 3 feats making your character have 1 more feat than normally possible.

Posted Mar 10, 2021You take it once the first level you gain an ability score improvement and forfeit an increase in your characters abilities until the next level where you get an ability score improvement or feat. And the second time you can take an ability score improvement/feat, if you take a feat you then can take 2 more hence the “you take 2 feats the next time you gain a feat.” I should’ve said additional feats to make it more clear. But yeah so in the end you’ll gain one more feat than was possible.

Posted Oct 5, 2021Posted it twice and read it wrong. It doesn’t say “two more” it says “you get two the feats the next time you’d get a feat”. So you basically are just choosing to take your feat later which is pointless.

Posted Jun 29, 2022Generally, you can't take a feat multiple times, so your idea doesn't work in another way.

Posted Sep 8, 2022This is an interesting idea, but it does not do anything practically. One way to improve this would be to change the number of feats you gain next time to three instead of two. That way, you would at least have more feats than you would have had anyway. Although, i am not sure that would even be allowed.

Posted Feb 2, 2023you get a temp lose of power for the same power you would have had if you just got a useful feat and you cannot even take it then take it twice cause it isn't repeatable

Posted Jul 27, 2023Okay, it turns out the way this feat was meant to be interpreted was you get two extra feats, for a total of three. The creator actually said so in the comment, but it wasn't the focus of the comment and was confusingly worded, so it was easy to overlook.

Posted May 20, 2024So, you take this feat so that you can take 2 feats later on? Uh... check your math. You take this feat at 4th level, so that you get two feats at 8th level. Or, you could just ignore this feat and instead take one feat at 4th level (not this one; something good instead), and another feat at 8th level.
I think you need to think this through and redesign it, if you haven't already.

Posted May 27, 2024I'd change it to be "Every subsequent time you take a feat you gain a feat" or "Every odd/even time you take a feat you gain a feat", so that you have a net gain

Posted Jul 20, 2024Okay, hear me out, I think this has potential. If you made it 3 feats instead of 2 then it's actually a net gain. Admittedly you're only really a head by one, but I think that's a start. Maybe add one additional feature on top of that.
