You may select a feature from a different subclass within your class (or classes if multi-classed) as long as you meet that feature's class level requirement. Features that grant spellcasting, such as Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster, can be selected but are locked at level 3, granting only the initial ability as described.
*You can optionally allow the spellcasting to scale, based on the level the feat is selected ex: A level 12 Battle Master fighter selecting Spellcasting from Eldritch Knight can use the level 12 EK chart to determine cantrips known, spells known, and spell slots.

it looks good but could be overpowered with some classes
I'm interested in breaking this feat. Can you give an example of where you think it could be overpowered?
"Some?!" I'm an Ancients/Devotion paladin. Or a Battlemaster/Champion. Or a Zealot/Totem Barbarian.
Seriously? Lore/Valor Bard, my cutting words works on EVERYthing. I literally can't think of a single use that ISN'T Overpowered. You're giving an entire class to someone with a feat.
Hey thanks for the feedback. It's been a while since we visited this feat, but as a matter of fact I had an in-depth discussion about it not too long ago ago. Full respect to AaronWho because it's his feat, but the version I'm currently looking at reads like this:
You may select a single feature from a different subclass within your class (or classes if multi-classed) of level 9 or lower as long as you meet that feature's class level requirement. A feature chosen in this manner does not scale with level even if the feature says it does and it is locked to the level at which the feature is gained.
Removing capstones was a given. The biggest talking points so far have been around Bear Totem and Assassinate. As far as cutting words goes, I think that is an excellent use of this feat. Just remember every inspiration you use for cutting words is one fewer inspiration you get for combat inspiration.
We had updated it, but I hadn't published the update yet. I really like the wording on your update, it is even cleaner than what I had, was still toying with letting you take a class feature, but excellent work Tex
This is a mother****in' NIGHTMARE!!!
Satyr Fiendlock with hex warrior
I would love to play a Chronurgy Wizard and grab the Divination Wizard's Portent ability with this feat.
What do you think i am doing right now :)
I really like it conceptionally, but it would probably need to be the second sub class feature, cuase the first one is usually the subclass defining feature.
I usually play wiazrd else i would get free ward, portent or also the chronurgy feature is almost two feats in itself alert and lucky.
