Bonded Item (1) Image

You touch an attuned magical item and spend a short rest focusing on the item, using 10,000gp worth of rare materials appropriate to the item that are consumed by the ritual. When you finish the ritual, you gain several benefits while you are attuned to the item:

  • The item doesn't count against your attuned magical item limit and can't become unattuned unless you choose to end the attunement, you no longer meet the prerequisites for attunement, or you die;
  • As long as it's on the same plane as you, you know the approximate distance and direction of the item;
  • If you lose the item or it's destroyed, it magically finds its way back to you or magically reforms, within a year and a day. It doesn't reform if you deliberately destroy it.

You can bond to a new item by ending your attunement to the currently bonded item and performing the ritual again with a different item. You can take this feat up to 3 times. Each time you take it, it must be applied to a different magical item. Artifacts and other sentient items may choose to reject your attempt to bond with them, if they wish.
