Through dedication and training, you have adopted a method of facing down aggressors in swift and devastating fashion.
While your weapon is stowed, you can use your reaction to launch a special melee weapon attack against a creature within your weapon's reach. The creature must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, your attack hits the creature as though you scored a critical hit, and the attack deals extra damage of the weapon's type equal to half your character level, rounded down. On a successful save, your attack misses and the creature has advantage on its next attack roll against you before the start of your next turn.
You can only use this reaction with a slashing or piercing weapon which you wield in one hand. You can use this reaction a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus.
