Prerequisite: Journeyman Stage of Aura Mastery/70 Mastery Points
You can sense the auras of other living creatures (not undead or constructs) in a radius equal to 5 times your character level. If you are attacked by something living that is not under the effects of a Nondetection spell or a similar effect within this radius, then you cannot be surprised by it.
Furthermore, if you use your action to focus on this sense, then you can learn additional information for each consecutive round you spend an action focusing:
- 1st Round - Presence or Absence of life. You can choose to ignore the presence of plants and lesser forms of life before receiving information as a free action each round.
- 2nd Round - Number of living creatures in the area and the power of the most potent aura present. If the strongest creature's aura
- 3rd Round - The power and location of each aura. If the aura is outside your line of sight, but within your aura sense, then you discern it's direction, but not it's exact location. If an aura is within your line of sight, then you can locate it's exact location and the creature creating it cannot benefit from invisibility for the next minute. If you take damage from any source, then you can only focus on a number of located auras equal to your wisdom modifier.
- 4th Round - If you have encountered an aura before, then you can roll insight to recognize it. The DC changes based on your familiarity with the living creature creating the aura.
- DC 1 - Extremely Familiar (Spent more than a year seeing them for multiple hours a day)
- DC 5 - Very Familiar (Spent at least half a year seeing them for multiple hours a day)
- DC 10 - Familiar (Spent at least 3 months seeing the creature for at least 1 hour a day)
- DC 15 - Somewhat Familiar (Spent at least 1 month seeing the creature for at least 30 minutes a day)
- DC 20 - Not Familiar (Spent at least 1 week seeing them for at least 30 minutes a day)
- DC 25 - Have Met 3 times for at least 15 minutes
- DC 30 - Have Met Once
