Prerequisite: Race that has darkvision.
You were born not with the ability to see in darkness, but with better sight in dim light.
If your DM allows it, you can take this variant feat at 1st level, replacing your darkvision with the following sense.
Low-light vision. You have superior vision in low-light conditions. You can see in dim light as if it were bright light and have advantage on sight-based Wisdom (Perception) checks in dim light.
Low-light vision has twice the range of the darkvision it replaces.
