Your bond to your familiar deepens. You may now have your familiar assume new forms which were previously not possible. (Beast form up to CR rating 1/8) Talk to your DM to discuss what beasts are allowed.
You must have general knowledge of/or have encountered the desired creature in the past. This new (ritual) spell uses a level 2 slot, requires 50g worth of find familiar components and takes one full hour to cast (No exceptions.)
Familiars you summon gain +2 hp per caster level (as determined by the multi-classing rules).
Your new familiar follows the normal find familiar guidelines except for the following:
- While you have an upgraded familiar, you may forgo an attack when taking the attack action to temporarily ignore the Attack Restriction in place of Familiars, and allow your Familiar to make a single attack. If you have the extra attack feature, you may perform this attack in place of any attacks made during your attack action.
- If your familiar is within 5 feet of a creature you can use your bonus action to command your familiar to distract that creature. Roll a D20 and if the roll is 15 or greater, the next attack that the creature makes at any target is at disadvantage. Alternatively, you can use the distraction to give advantage on the next attack against the target. You must decide at the time of the command which effect you want. If the creature moves 10 feet or more away from your familiar this effect ends.
- Your familiar can only perform one of the above actions per turn.
- Your familiar has learned how to telepathically alert you. You can command your familiar to wait for a trigger that you define. When the trigger occurs your familiar wordlessly informs so long as they are still in range using telepathy.
Finally, instead of having to cast the spell again each time you want to change the familiar's form, you can use an action change it to any of it's possible forms by touching it.
