Legacy Power (Base Abilities)

Tier 1

  • 110 Percent: At every Legacy tier, you gain a +1 increase to a chosen ability score. You are also no longer limited to the physical or mental limitations that do not allow you to go over 20 in a stat.

  • Hard to Kill: When making a death saving throw, a Legacy Player adds their Legacy tier to the save.  (A natural 1 still counts as a double failure even if this bonus would cause the roll to succeed.) Additionally, when calculating damage taken after your hit points reach zero to determine weather or not you die instantly, add your Legacy tier to your maximum hit point threshold. For example, a cleric with 1 Legacy tier with a maximum of 12 hit points currently has 6 hit points. If she takes 19 damage from an attack, she is reduced to 0 hit points, but 13 damage remains. Because the remaining damage equals her hit point maximum +1 from Legacy Tier, the cleric dies.

  • Legacy Power: Legacy characters can draw upon a wellspring of power to accomplish amazing deeds and cheat fate. This power is used by a number of different abilities. Each day, you can expend an amount of Legacy power equal to your Legacy tier plus Proficiency.  This amount is your maximum amount of Legacy power. If an ability allows you to regain uses of your Legacy power, you can never have more than this amount.  After using hit dice to heal, you may spend a number of hit dice to regain Legacy power equal to the amount spent. Like using hit dice to heal, hit dice spent to recover Legacy power are not available to use again until after a long rest. You regain all of your Legacy power after a long rest.

  • Surge: You can call upon your Legacy power to overcome difficult challenges. You can expend one use of Legacy power to use a bonus action that does not harm a creature including spells, abilities, and movement *half speed after someone's turn. This does not change your initiative, you still act normally when your turn comes up. You can only use surge once a round.

Tier 2

  • Bend Fate: After a roll is determined a failure, you may use a Legacy power to add a d6 to attempt to change the outcome to a success. The bonus die gained by using this ability increases to 1d8 at 4th tier.

 Tier 3

  • Legendary Focus: You can expend a use of Legacy power to receive advantage on a saving throw, attack roll, skill check or ability check.

 Tier 4

  • Energized: The battle has invigorated you to keep fighting. You may use any amount of Legacy power to immediately spend an equal amount of Hit Die to heal yourself without a short rest.

Tier 5

  • Longevity: You can no longer die from old age. If you have penalties to your physical ability scores due to aging, you no longer take those penalties. You still continue to age, and you gain all the benefits to your mental ability scores.
