Unlike the fighting style of most heavily armored knights, Water Dancers favor slender, lighter swords for a faster, more elegant fighting style.  
While you are wielding a finesse weapon with which you are proficient, you gain the following benefits: 

• you can make opportunity attacks without using your reaction.  
• a creature that misses you with a melee attack by more than 2 points provokes an opportunity attack.
