You expand on the versatility of the Longsword gaining the following benefits.

• You can use a reaction or a bonus action (either one but not both) to give yourself a blocking guard that gives you a +5 to AC until the start of your next turn.
• You can add your Intelligence modifier to your attack and damage rolls with your longsword
• You can "half-sword" your longsword in combat. Doing 1d8 piercing damage.
•  Your longsword gains the finesse property
