While you concentrate on a spell you can cast another concentration spell and maintain concentration on both of them. While you are concentrated on both spells your movement is halved and a dispel magic cast upon you would end both spells.
When taking damage and rolling a cencentration check you only roll one and upon a failure choose which spell to end.
