You are adept at using guns effectively.
- You gain proficiency with Firearms.
- If you roll a misfire on an attack with a firearm, you can use your reaction to roll a d20. If the number rolled is higher than the weapon’s misfire score, the firearm does not misfire. You cannot use this feature of this feat again until you complete a short or long rest.
- When you use the Attack action and attack with a one-handed weapon, you can use a bonus action to attack with a loaded firearm with the light property you are holding.

Can Gunslinger (Artificer) dual wield 2 Pepperboxes without this feat? Pepperbox has light property, but this feat is enabling you to shoot with 2 Light firearms.
Additionally, if you have infusions, you can use the "repeating shot" infusion to have an unlimited ammo palm pistol that gives you essentially two shots per every one shot of your main firearms (fastest hands in the west).
This gives Bladesingers a boost in damage output while being able to maintain Bladesong. If you have an automatic pistol for example, a Bladesinger could use bladesong and make two attacks plus take a bonus action to make an additional attack.
This is actually quite nice for characters without firearm proficiency. They would benefit from the 2nd point because they most likely dont have tinker tools proficiency as well. Not to mention the 2nd point would only improve on an existing gunslinger to be more consistent in their attacks.
One-Handed weapon theoretically applies to other firearms, meaning that it works the way you suggested, as well as allowing melee and firearms to be used on the same turn.
I recommend that you look through firearms history, there's nothing stopping you from lifting some of the old repeating palm pistols that had multiple barrels like the early flintlock and caplock Deringer pistols or the later Derringer if you want to use "modern" ammunition, personally my character uses a Walker Colt from around 1848.
Attack with palm pistol reload using extra attack then attack with bonus action using same palm pistol is the most use I can think of and even then it's only usefull for the first round and you can get the same effect with a second palm pistol
The difference is that reloading a firearm isn't a free action
PARRY THIS, YOU FILTHY CASUAL
A Rogue who would normally take Crossbow Expert and use a hand crossbow to deal 1d6 + Dex with it's Action and 1d6 + Dex with it's Bonus Action may choose this feat, use a pistol or a pepperbox to deal 1d10 + Dex with it's Action and a palm pistol with the off hand to deal 1d8 + Dex with it's Bonus Action, then drop the palm pistol to draw a new one with the free object interaction.
Pros - trade 2d6 for 1d10 + 1d8 and more range on your attacks.
Cons - Missfire (1 or 2 on first attack pistol/pepperbox and a missfire 1 on palm pistol), may need tinker tools Proficiency to repair if missfire happens (or at the very least, harder to repair without Proficiency), Stealth goes out the window after the first shot, you have to reload after 4 or 6 rounds depending on the main firearm used and finally with this feat you don't get close range shooting (but a rogue will probably choose to disengage as a Bonus Action rather than shooting a palm pistol on those cases).
how do you get guns
hhmm, how to get guns would depend on your DM, but i would rule it using the DMG Magic Item Crafting Rules. Basically, you need the the formula for the magic item (in this case you could say that getting proficiency with firearms gives the formula to the character), You would also need proficiency with Tinker's Tools and a set of thoose with you, then you start crafting with 25gp increments every day (8 hours of work every day) until you meet the market price for the firearm. Several character could also craft the same firearm (as long as all of them are proficient with tinker's tools and one of them has the formula or in this case, proficiency with firearms) by having 25gp incrementes for each character. Lastly, for the gunslinger, you could add "it takes you a quarter of the normal time, and it costs you half as much of the usual gold", or something like that, like the Artificer with the "Magic Item Adept" feature.
I think it's important to remember that this feat was made before the Gunslinger class was introduced as a way to get firearm proficiency the characters would never seen such a weapon before it really has no practical application when given to a gunslinger what could be very useful for a fighter or assassin who uses light one-handed weapons and wants to add a good bit of extra damage kind of like a one-time bonus attack unless you stop to reload it
For some bizarre reason...I want to make a Sword Bard who takes this feat.
Have them roaring some AC/DC as they fire a hand cannon...yeah.
It’d take another feat to come on-line...but it just seems worth it.
A trick-shooter.
I am a wizard (and a firearm specialist) and Im wondering if I can attack with a spell and use my bonus action to fire a pistol. Or is the loaded gun bonus action contingent on using a one-handed "weapon" like a sword??
Artificer can infuse the pistol with repeating...
I'm, like, four years late, but if you grab a pair of Gloves of the Gunslinger then you don't need a second hand to reload, so you can dual wield Palm Pistols with this feat's third ability.
there are revolver, which is where it might be useful?
i dual wield palm pistols. there busted as crap a 1d8+3 damage added on with a +8 on hit dice. it almost never misses and does a but tonn of dmg
You could attack someone with a pistol and then fire with the palm pistol, for the extra damage, and chances are your not a tank if your using guns, so running away and reloading or just staying in the back could be helpful
