I created a goblin artificer, named Torq. He is an artillerist. I really enjoy playing the character but I have a few questions that I am unclear about.
1) What are the rules for crafting weapons for an artificer?
2) What are the rules for crafting permanent magical items?
3) Am I correct in my interpretation of the Replicate Magic Item and Artificer Infusions in general, that if you have 2 infusions at 2nd level for example, you may only have 2 infused items in existence at any one time?
4) Arcane Firearm is not really a firearm, but a rod, wand, or staff, right? So why call it a firearm?
1) What are the rules for crafting weapons for an artificer?
There aren't any official ones, that I know of.
2) What are the rules for crafting permanent magical items?
There are some in Xanathar's. Artificer gets a time/cost discount, basically.

That's basically correct.

Correct. I assume it's called a firearm for stylistic purposes. You could imagine a wand as a spell pistol, a rod as a spell carbine, and a staff as a spell rifle, for example.

There is a good guide in crafting magical items here - use the rules outlined, and apply your artificers discount!
