If the mending spell is cast on it, it regains 2d6 hit points. It disappears if it is reduced to 0 hit points or after 1 hour. You can dismiss it early as an action.
Firearms Specialist (taken from DnDBeyond):
You gain proficiency with Firearms.
If you roll a misfire on an attack with a firearm, you can use your reaction to roll a d20. If the number rolled is higher than the weapon’s misfire score, the firearm does not misfire. You cannot use this feature of this feat again until you complete a short or long rest.
When you use the Attack action and attack with a one-handed weapon, you can use a bonus action to attack with a loaded firearm with the light property you are holding.
Artificer's already get proficiency with firearms (if you are playing with them) and you can already attack with the cannon as a bonus action no matter your action. and there is no "misfire" or "loading" it.

Eldritch Cannon is not considered a weapon, its a magical item that can end up 60' away from you and still fire. So, you're not holding it, and it doesn't have the light property.
As for misfire... well, that's a rule that's only found as part of the Critical Role homebrew Gunslinger subclass for Fighter. There's no way that it can apply to a completely different class that's part of official content.
The feat doesn't really do anything outside of Critical Role.

Critical Role
Eldritch Cannon is not considered a weapon, its a magical item that can end up 60' away from you and still fire. So, you're not holding it, and it doesn't have the light property.
