I love this class. It is literally the class that got me to play D&D despite it not being in 5e for the first three years I played it. That said, its spell list has some holes in it; it is a little wonky in the first level where you do not get the actual tools that you need; the class should be able to prepare its cantrips like its spells, and what WotC named its subclass will bug me until the day I die (or we get an artificer in 6e). "Artificer Specialist" hurts every time I see it. You can't just slam two nouns together and hope they make sense; you have to think about how they work and flow together. You wouldn't write "doctor pediatrician" or "lawyer prosecutor" would you? No, then why would you ever think it is okay to write "artificer specialist?" "Artificer Specialization" works; "tool specialization" works; "specialized artificer" works, even "arcane specialist" works, but they some how stumbled into one of the clunkiest combinations of words I have ever seen, and I used to edit essays written by ELL students.
Maybe it is just me.

It has the coolest subclass names, even if there are only four of them. I'm a bit annoyed that battle smith broke the "A" naming convention but still.
"The Epic Level Handbook wasn't that bad, guys.
Guys, pls."
I was hoping they would all keep the -ist suffix.
Armorer doesn't seem that great of a name. Armorist seems better.
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Spells, Monsters, Subclasses, Races, Arcknight Class, Occultist Class, World, Enigmatic Esoterica forms
That wouldn't make sense. An armorist is one who studies armor, not someone who makes armor.

well the artillerist certainly doesn't just read a book on artillery and call it a day now does he XD
