Its a very gish mix and you'll almost be overloaded with choices to make at the beginning of every day, but it'll still be fun! Before I try and offer a build suggestion (I love making characters), do you want the PC to be a Luna Sorcerer/Artificer or Artificer/ Luna Sorcerer? That is, do you see them as mainly an artificer or mainly a sorcerer? Also do you have an idea of what Artificer subclass you'd like take?

Well, the waiting got the better of me and I went ahead and had a look at one already. hahaha. On a very quick throw together of a lvl5 character, I came up with the following that could be fun.
With Rock Gnome as race, Sage as Background and using standard array for stats selection, I came up with 8, 12, 13, 15, 10, 14. Rock Gnome makes it 8, 12, 14, 17, 10, 14. This will give you a DC of 14 for your Artificer spells and 13 for your Sorcerer spells. I went with Artificer at level 1, Luna Sorcerer level 2, then Artificer for level 3, 4 and 5, choosing Battlesmith at level 4 (which would Artificer 3rd level) and Skill Expert as a feat at level 5 (Artificer's 4th level), bumping the Intelligence score to 18 choosing proficiency in Medicine and doubling my proficiency in Investigation.
I went with Splint Mail for an AC of 15, two daggers for the finesse interaction with your Dexterity Score instead of Strength Score.
For Artificer Infusions I chose Enhanced Armour (Splint Mail), Mind Sharpener, Repeating Shot and Replicate Item: Bag of Holding. You'll only get to use two of these, making it a tough choice, but I would choose Enhanced Armour and Bag of Holding but these are entirely up to you. Next Artificer level you may want to take Repeating Shot if you want to fire your crossbow twice, that is if you're not going caster-type with your sorcerer class.
For Sorcerer, I'd choose New Moon every morning for access to Dissonant Whispers as you have access to the other spells on offer in the sorcerer class in the artificer spell list already.
For Artificer cantrips, I chose Guidance and Mage Hand for utility.
For Sorcerer cantrips, I chose Chill Touch, Fire Bolt, Message and Mind Sliver. For spells I chose Shield and Silvery Barbs for utility.
I dunno how all that sounds, that purely mechanically built for a utility Sorcificer with a 5 minute throw together. The lore/story/theme is what ever you want it to be and usually informs why a multi class is what it is.
