Over the last year or so I've gotten really into painting minis. Monsters, characters, terrain, you name it! There are tonnes of tutorials that have made it an easily accessible and fun experience. Now I have a new idea that I'd like to explore for my current campaign and I am looking for some guidance...
So, my new character is a fighter. I thought it would be fun to specialize in painter's supplies via the student of war options. I managed to find a miniature easel that I've painted and bring it out whenever we have some downtime in game. I've been painting my fellow adventurers in game and it's been pretty fun. Now I'd like to give it a shot for real!
My idea is to create a keepsake from our campaign by painting each player's character portrait on a square miniature base (20x20mm) and gluing a magnet to the back. Alas, I have no painting experience in 2D and it is proving very difficult (duh, I should have expected this lol).
Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of some portrait and/or fine detail painting tutorials? I don't have a preference in terms of artistic style.
