I've been using Inkarnate for a few weeks now but these maps were my first attempts at a scenic / encounter map using the tools (then they went and released their new battlemaps beta which makes things a lot easier, heh.) Thought it would be nice to share with the community, and if you liked them enough you're more than welcome to use them in your home games too.
I definitely went for a theme, though I didn't have a specific session or campaign planned for them, and aesthetic with these three maps and tried to colour them all similarly too. I played a lot with perspective, layering and little details to try and make them all feel a little less flat. Having an aesthetic / theme for making maps was actually a really fun exercise so if anyone wanted to suggest one I'd love that!
I use Inkarnate and bought a subscription, I think for a year. Your work is very nice and I hope to see some more. I am still drawing Province Maps, Town Maps and local area maps, almost down to the scale of your encounter maps. One of the things that amazes me about Inkarnate is the detail of the "Stamps" they provide.
Can we make encounter maps purely top-down? Those are the kind I would need to build my stuff over at Roll20.
Thanks for sharing. (+1)

These are VERY good. To the point where you could probably get people to pay to use them. Not sure if you used some digital software or freehanded them but, either way, very well done on these.
Edit: Ah you did it on Inkarnate. I can't read. Will keep the original text for comedic effect.
That's really awesome. I just looked at Inkarnate and tinkered with the free version for 10 minutes. I made a map that looks like-- well it looked worse than an Atari game. You've got real talent!
