Someone must have asked this already but I'm going to ask it again just to be sure.
How do we end our Rage in the 2024 rules? The 2014 rules used to have this line: "You can also end your rage on your turn as a bonus action."
The 2024 rules don't say anything about ending it. So If I need to end my rage to cast a spell in an emergency, how do I do it RAW? Do I need to give up my Bonus Action (No Healing word) or is it up to the DM now?
The 2024 version of Rage only lasts until the end of your next turn unless you do something to extend it, so if you want it to end, you need to spend a turn not doing any of those things. The option to end it early as a bonus action is no longer available. It is not up to the DM (except inasmuch as everything in the game is up to the DM).
The idea, thematically, is that Rage is a primal emotional thing that you can't just turn off instantly whenever you feel like it. While this does mean that you can't just end it early to cast a spell in an emergency, Barbarians that can cast spells at all are relatively rare.

That sucks.
Thematically, I get it.
Mechanically, trash.
Hi Wagnarokkr,
Casting Barbarians are rare indeed. In 2024 they nerfed multiclassing options Ranger, Palading, PeaceCleric. How about these Barbarian / Warlock builds that can cast? TabletopBuilds & PackTacktics or Barbarian / EchoKnight(2014) / Warlock
Cheers
