I'm wanting to play a wild magic Barbarian, and I want to multiclass into fighter specifically samurai. I'm wanting to go mostly Barbarian to get all of their abilities, and I'm not sure where to take the dips in fighter. I also am not sure if samurai would be the best combo with wild magic barbarian. So if anyone has an suggestions or ideas for this build I would love the help. :)
A small dip in Samurai gives very little to a Barbarian compared to other Fighter subclasses. The trademark Samurai ability Fighting Spirit is already duplicated from your Barbarian levels in the form of Reckless Attack.
A much better dip would be Rune Knight in my opinion. The various Rune effects and Giant Might ability you can also roleplay as a part of your Barbarian Wild Surge.
Now in terms of when to multiclass I would go 5 Barbarian to get Extra Attack then go 3 Fighter and finish off rest of campaign leveling Barbarian.
I really like Battle Master as it's main feature is something that can be used without competing with other class features for your actions. The maneuvers can be done as part of your normal attacks and many of them add more damage on top of some other effect.
Edit: I agree with sticking with Barbarian until at least level 5, Extra Attack is to important to delay.
I agree with level 5, but you could do worse than Samurai *cough*Arcane Archer*cough*
Rune Knight fits the bill, but I think that Echo Knight could also be a fun one to couple with the WMB. You get another position to use your attacks or opportunity attacks, BA teleport, (and if your DM allows, Danger Sense might transfer to your Echo as well).
It's kind of boring, but taking a three level dip into Champion just to get the improved critical pairs well with Barbarian. Barbarian gets some good benefits from the increased crit range... for one thing, you'll be able to attack recklessly to have advantage whenever you want, and when you get Brutal Critical at higher levels your crits land even harder. It also doesn't compete with any of your actions or bonus actions, or give you a resource to track that won't be growing at higher levels, since you'll mostly be Barbarian.

I'm going to jump on the 5 levels of Barbarian first and basically anything but Samurai train.
