I don't like singing and musical stuff. To be honest, I would like to roleplay as an edgy guy who likes to play violin. An assassin, who uses illusionary magic to achieve goals https://mobdro.bio/.
But wouldn't 'playing violin' fall under the heading of 'musical stuff'?
At any rate, I guess if your GM is fine with it, it's no issue. I'd consider Bardic Inspiration to pretty much require song, playing an instrument - and maybe even dance. But maybe you can get away with just using angsty poetry =)

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
My bard is an historian who tells stories and creates maps. He's a lore bard, guild artisan. He tries insults as viscous mockery but he's scared in fights
Once upon a time, I made a mute bard. He expressed himself through sign language and his lute. It was extremely funny for the party to try to figure out what he was saying. So yes, I think it is possible to make a Bard who doesn't need to sing
I can’t sing to save my life and my table likes the bards to sing so mine is off key as h3ll and mostly tells stories or recites poetry and often uses puns as inspirations. He likes drums or lutes/lyres as musical accompaniment.

Funny. My Glory Paladin/Sword Bard is going to use Narrative storytelling instead of music (Stirring stories, instead of song)
Isn’t it stated in the new edition that having Bards that aren’t defined as musicians is a design goal?
I see a Bard as a storyteller, primarily, who may pick and choose his medium of delivery. Possible Bard inspirations could include:
None of these need to play an instrument to enthral an audience.

Let's throw down
I designed a glamour bard around the idea that he's a snake oil salesman like on the old westerns.
I did add a couple of levels of warlock to give him a familiar to speak through. So the familiar was the face of the operation. 😁
I themed my bard around being a carnival knife thrower. She put on shows instead of singing.

Wisea$$ DM and Player since 1979.
I had a bard who was a spy. He rarely rolled perform. He just knew stuff. Over a span of about twelve levels, he rolled performance maybe three times.
