I have a college of swords bard. I am having trouble getting my head around the way this Blade inspires others. is it limited to sword play. some bard abilities require the recipient be able to hear, which doesn't seem to lend itself to a sword dance or some such. alternatively this bard could be a comedienne or storyteller, perhaps a ringmaster/commentator. technically the blade still has instruments, I am just not sure it makes narrative sense for a college of swords fellow by inspiring folks on his.... jazz flute or whatever.
You can have him spout out Inspiration nonetheless. It doesn't take away from the theme and can help it as you mentioned. I always love the idea of a Belly Dancer style College of Swords who also sings.
There's lots of ways to incorporate sound into a dance if that's what you want.
- Blade does a tap dance, or sounds a rhythm to dance to
- Blade sings while dancing, and maybe your blade sings along - since the Swords feature lets you use your weapon as a spell focus, it's totally reasonable that it has musical elements to it
- Blade chants the steps of his dance while moving
