I was using Google Chrome on my PC to create a Cleric, the only option for Domain was Life Domain. This makes the character builder unable to make most clerics a person might intend to make.
Yeah, supposedly he has the Master subscription and has content sharing enabled for the campaign he invited me into. But I guess that content sharing is not going to affect my account in general? I can't then create another character outside the campaign to experiment with the builds. I would have to create a second character within the context of the campaign to do this.

The other domains for the Cleric need a purchase from the Marketplace to be unlocked.
D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
Ahh, ok. I had thought my friend who invited me to this had the master subscription. So maybe I'll check with him and see if that is not the case.

"We got this, no problem! I'll take the twenty on the left - you guys handle the one on the right!"🔊
Create a character in the campaign and when you are done you can leave the campaign.
All the info is still there but you cant change things that you havent bought. If you need to change you just add the character to the campaign again.
And if you create characters in the campaign then the DM can deactivate the characters you dont use.
You can still change them and they dont take up any slots of the twelve in the campaign.
I'm not stupid. I'm just unlucky when I'm thinking.
