Thank god, the end of Corona is in sight. That had me wondering when the "Quarantine Resources" section will be deleted...
I'm especially worried about content sharing. I am currently sharing in 4 campaigns. If the limit is capped back to 3, one campaign would lose my content, meaning the characters would be destroyed?! I don't really what would happen. Anyhow, I would like to avoid those scenarios.
Does anyone know when Quarantine Resources and extended content sharing ends?
And: Does anyone knows what happens to characters that use content which the player does not possess if the content sharing is ended on the campaign?
This is my understanding based on what Adam/Badeye has said (but see note below)
-When the expansion of content sharing reverts to 3, those who currently have more that 3 campaigns with content sharing will be able to continue to share with those campaign
-my assumption, which has not been verified by staff, is that if I turn off content sharing on campaign #4 after sharing has reverted to 3, I won’t be able to turn content sharing back on in that campaign or any other campaign until my total number of campaigns with sharing on is less than 3.
-when DDB decides to reduce content sharing back to 3, it will be announced well ahead of time.
Note, however, that Adam/Badeye is no longer with DDB. I would assume those commitments continue, though. finally it is possible to “juggle” content sharing, turning it off in a campaign which is not playing at that moment so you can turn it on for tonight’s game, as needed.
i know a couple of my sentences were pretty long and complex. If anything I said isn’t clear, please ask.
I kinda relieved, for now, knowing that they have this in mind, to say the least. I was afraid, that I missed an announcement like that already, but it doesn't seem so.
I guess I have to be on the lookout for such a post, or trust in the DDB team on this.
Yes, I know about juggling, but I am hesitant to turn off content sharing on my campaigns because I don't know what would happen to characters, that let's say, use content from Ravnica or so. Would the new classes/spells/backgrounds, etc. just disappear?!
It is my understanding that any shared content on the sheet at the time content sharing ends will stay on the sheet. But additional items cannot be added. If a prepared caster (like a cleric, druid, or paladin) "unprepares" a spell that they had due to content sharing, they probably won't have access to it to prepare again. And I'm not sure if features that should be added when a character levels up will be added if level up happens when content sharing is not on. Someone else may have better info on those points.
Has there been any official update regarding the expanded content sharing? I couldn't find anything in the forums. I noticed that in the subscription plan description the master tier now lists content sharing for up to 5 campaigns. The quarantine resources page still states that the expanded sharing will go away at the end of the year, but I am unsure if that is up to date. I have the master tier subscription with all the books unlocked, and I run an afterschool D&D club in a middle school. Being able to share content with five campaigns has been fantastic for me because I encourage the students to take turns being a dungeon master. I am hoping this is a permanent change but if not I would like to know ahead of time when it will revert back to three campaigns.
Heyho!

I can confirm that turning off content sharing on a campaign is non destructive for the characters in that campaign.

There is no new news, but they will most assuredly give us advanced notice before the limit reverts.
