I have home brewed a magic item that would raise the intelligence of one of my players above 20. However, it doesn't seem to want to do it. It also raises the maximum to 24. Is there a way to do that without physically over-riding the ability score?
Here's an example of the modifiers you would use (this example is boosting CON, but you can switch them for INT).

I'll take the twenty on the left - you guys handle the one on the right!"🔊
