So, I made a magical item with some spells in it. The spells descriptions appear while looking on the homebrew collection page, but when I add it to a character sheet, the spells cease to appear, showing only the regular text.
It's always been like that for the current character sheet, yes.
As I understand it, when the new character sheet was being developed, the plan was for tooltips to be present on the character sheet and personally I think they would be really awesome on there.
There were some technical concerns, so the decision was made to strip tooltips from appearing on the character sheet.
I don't have details on what the technical concerns were - that's something only the developer team could answer.
I do know that they are hoping to add them back in at some point though!

D&D Beyond FoundersTooltips & links are currently stripped from homebrew and official items/feats, due to the potential to break the character sheet.
I believe that the plan is to introduce them at some point.
