I can only assume this is a duplicate post, but trying to search these forums has been frustrating at best.
When generating PDFs, the font sizes are not scaling properly. In some fields (e.g., personality traits, other proficiencies & languages) the text is not reduced small enough to fit in the fields. In others (character backstory), the font is so small it is totally off the charts (750 words in about a 1/4" of printed space).
Is there a way to force it to scale properly, or is this bug going to be fixed sometime soon?
i found clicking into the box with the font kind of auto-scales it to fit all of the text your wrote into the box. For example if you only have one word, it will appear large and fill the box. If you have 4 paragraphs it will be unreadable as it is tiny. It is allegedly being redone after the character sheet is remade someday.
Yeah, I noticed that it rescales when I click into it. But as soon as I click into a different box, the original box goes back to whichever size (too large or way to small). And the four paragraphs in the backstory are shrunk to (literally) microscopic, only taking up 1/4" of the allotted 5". Seems very broken.
Since OrcPub scales the text correctly, it doesn't seem like an issue inherent to the Wizards of the Coast form. Pretty key functionality to get right, I'd think. Does anyone in the know have a sense for if or when this will be addressed?
I am not "in the know" but it has been stated various times that the PDF export was something they put in "overnight" due to popular demand towards the end of the testing phase. They know it's crap, they are the first one saying it's crap and they'll fix it together with the character sheet overhaul that should go live fairly soon (they are aiming within Q1). If you want, there's a sneak peak of the new digital sheet here (not what you are looking for, if I get it right, but it's still an indication that things are moving with this).
I think it's also worth pointing out that originally DDB was supposed to be digital-only, so it's not a big surprise that they did not really look into a PDF sheet export beforehand.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
