Hello, Getting ready for a session. I noticed that the to hit number for Booming Blade doesn't appear to be correct. I could be wrong, I'm not the rule lawyer of the group, but my understanding was that Booming Blade, while activated by taking the Cast a Spell action, you are not making a melee spell attack. It is a normal melee attack, and if it hits the spell effects are added. So the to hit should be (Dex/Stre)+(Prof.) Right now it looks like it is (Spell Attack Mod)+(Prof.) Found this article that helps with clarification: http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/rules-answers-april-2016. That is correct, it allows you to make a melee attack with a weapon you are currently wielding, so the bonus (and resulting damage) is based solely on what weapon you use.
