I am trying to add photos in a message thread--and I can't seem to do it. I would be glad to post pictures of what happens...but I can't! But here's what I've tried:
1. Click the little "insert/edit image" icon.
2. Put the path to the picture that I'm trying to post in the "source" box.
3. Put label for the picture in the "image description" box
4. Press enter
Every time, I get this:
I feel like I have a fundamental misunderstanding of how this works. Can someone help me or point me to a resource that could help me? Thank you.
I think the image needs to be on the Internet, not on your laptop. You may need to upload it to an image hosting site, then paste the URL in the source box.

Let me try this:
I think the image needs to be on the Internet, not on your laptop. You may need to upload it to an image hosting site, then paste the URL in the source box.
You have to make sure the image path is a URL, say from imgur, and includes the file type (.png or .jpeg for example) at the end.
For example, if I wanted to embed the image found here: https://imgur.com/nspurSD
I would copy the image address and add .jpg: https://imgur.com/nspurSD.jpg
Then put that in the Source for the embed image

Thank you! That fixed it (adding .jpg). I appreciate the help!
I'm currently trying to embed this image...

...into a post on Dndbeyond. I've tried adding the file type (.jpg) on the end, but when I do, it looks like this:
But of course, if you click that link, it takes you to an actual image that absolutely is available. Help?
I fixed this by doing the following
You had linked not the the image, but the gallery the image was in

Nice quote from Tasha. Being murdered by spells is one of my hard limits.
Thanks for the info.
