It seems martial weapon proficiency for tempest cleric is not properly reflected in the Attack stats. My character with 16 STR shows 1d8+3 for warhammer. Please check. Cheers.

The damage roll (1d8+3, in this case) is not affected by the proficiency. The bonus to the damage is only due to the STR modifier.

From the section Damage Rolls (Basic Rules or PHB):

When attacking with a weapon, you add your ability modifier — the same modifier used for the attack roll — to the damage.

Ah true.. apologies for the ignorance. I realized my reference was a character with dueling fighting style so the additional damage was not from proficiency.
