I recently purchased Tales of the Yawning Portal, because I'm running a game with my friends on tabletop simulator. : ) I noticed Dead in Thay doesn't have a player version map.
Which means that at some point, I will have to edit this huge map to remove every room number. I already cut the maps myself so they fit on my virtual table, but is it an omission?
I can see a player version. If you click on the map in the compendium, an overlay/popup will appear with the map. Click the > and it will shift to the next image, which is the player map. If you right click on it (or control-click or two-finger click on a Mac), you can open it in a new tab. It still has all the names on it, which I think is odd for a player map, but the numbers are gone.
My issue with the other map is that it's "hand-drawn" and it isn't really good to use as terrain on tabletop simulator. While all the other dungeons in the book provide a map without numbers and with 5x5 squares that I can use with the miniatures.
Hey! So, 6 years later, and I just bought Dead in Thay and from what I can tell, we still don't have a "players" version of the map. Did you have to end up editing yours?

Why no player version for this chapter?
Thanks!

Yeah, I think that might be an old map (the TotYP adventures are from previous editions). It needs a player version of the map in the book.
So.. will this get discussed and maybe "fixed" or should I just edit the image myself?
It may get fixed. I wouldn't count on it being soon.
You could probably do it yourself quicker than waiting.
thanks!
