Will the new rule book mean that new versions of expansions will be needed or will the ones I have already bought like Tasha's cauldron of everything work with it?
From what I have heard most things will work quite smoothly the one thing that doesn't is Shepherd Druid due to the changes to the coure spells and summoning.
Speech of the woods works OK in 2024
Spirit Totem: While this works under 2024 Rules the Bear Totem and Unicorn Totem are significantly weaker when you can't summon 8 creatures
Mighty Summoner (1): Any beast or Fey you summon in 2024 PHB doesn't have hit dice, Mighty summoner is incompatible with spells like summon beast and summon fey, this has been an issue since Tasha's but this now applies to all the summoning spells available to the Shepherd Druid.
Mighty Summoner (2): There will be no segregation between magical and non magical weapon damage regarding resistance/immunity. So this feature becomes null and void
Guardian Spirit: For the same reasons as Spirit Totem this is significantly nerfed due to the change of the conjure spells but at least it works.
Faithful Summons: Is completely incompatible with 2024 Rules.
So of the 6 features a shepherd druid gets, 2 are greatly nerfed and 3 do not work at all.
