I created a homebrew monster but it says I cannot publish it because there are external links within it but there are no links anywhere. Is there any way to check for that?
Did you use another creature as a base? Often times they come with rules references. Those need to be replaced. So, for instance, a link to a spell like Counterspell would need to be surrounded by brackets like so:
[spells]Counterspell[/spells]
Note that items with both 2014 and 2024 versions have 2 versions of tags: [spell] vs [spells]
This usually is not a real link but text that looks like one. D&D Beyond flags things like http, www, IP style numbers, version numbers, or hidden formatting from copied text.
Duplicate the monster, delete one section at a time, and try republishing to isolate the problem. Paste the text into a plain editor and retype it to remove hidden characters. There is no built in tool to highlight the exact issue.

Yeah I was able to find it in the code. It took a lot of searching XD
